NFHCA: East Stroudsburg moves up to No. 2 in week seven Division II coaches poll
Shippensburg continues to own the top of the list in week seven of the National Field Hockey Coaches Association poll.
The Raiders edged East Stroudsburg 3-2 at Robb Sports Complex this past week. They continue to have a pristine record in the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference and overall they continue to hold steady at No. 1, while only a few changes occurred in the nine beneath them.
No. 3 Kutztown dropped one from No. 2. No. 7 West Chester was able to capitalize in overtime to take the 3-2 win handing the Golden Bears their fourth loss on the season. And, second loss in the PSAC.
The PSAC field hockey standings has Ship at No. 1 with an 8-0 record; East Stroudsburg at No. 2 with a 5-2 record; and Kutztown at No. 3 with a 5-3 record.
No. 2 East Stroudsburg moved up one spot in this week's poll.
According to the NFHCA, “the Penn Monto/NFHCA Division I Coaches Poll is a composite ranking of the top 20 teams with a .500 or better record in the nation each week. Each Division I team with an NFHCA member coach is permitted one vote for the ranking each week.
“Polls are announced every Tuesday during the field hockey playing season.The Penn Monto/NFHCA Division I National Coaches Poll is voted on by NFHCA member coaches and has no bearing on selection to the NCAA Division I Field Hockey Championship.”
The following teams received the most votes cast by NFHCA members. The list is the rank, team name, record, and last position held in the prior poll. Bolded teams have moved position higher or lower from week-to-week.
